So, I am 13 days into a detox - no gluten, caffeine, sugar, dairy or alcohol. It has been an interesting experiment to say the least. I have also been advised (by a nutritionist) to start my day with Himalayan Salt and anyone who knows me, knows that is like a little gift every morning!! I’m going to try to go three weeks but my buddy Sarah is coming to SF on Wednesday so the booze might be “reintroduced”! I have dropped a couple lbs, gone through the caffeine headache stage and sat at the Kezar Sports bar nursing an ice water while the Pens are in the playoffsother than that, I feel pretty normal. Whole Foods makes gluten free bread (I like the Millet variety) that’s delicious toasted under almond butter. Oh yeah, and I added coconut oil - like what they used to put on movie popcorn until there was some sort of uproar and everybody got all out of whack about plant-based oils - turns out that it was a good fat all along …
